Educational Qualification :

  1. Candidate should have passed Matriculation Examination or its equivalent from recognized Board of School Education/ Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. Provided that this condition shall not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.
  2. Candidate must possess valid driving licence for plying of Heavy/ Light vehicles in hilly terrain.

Desirable Qualification : Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing the Pradesh.

Age Limit : Between 18 years and 45 years.

  • Age of a candidates shall be reckoned as on 01.01.2021.

Driver (Class-lll) :

Written Objective Type Examination/ Driving Skill Test/Evaluation :-

There well be written objective type examination (MCQ) . Marks obtained in written objective type examination (MCQ) shall be counted for deciding the merit of candidate. The candidates to be declared qualified in the written objective test shall be subject to driving skill test which is qualifying in nature.

Final Selection of candidate will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the written objective type examination; passing the driving skill test and evaluation based on the parameters devised by the Department of Personnel vide its Notification No. Per (AP.B)B(15)-5/2014 dated 17-04-2021 as detailed below :

  1. Written objective type examination = 85 marks.
  2. Driving Skill Test =Qualifying Nature
  3. Evaluation = 15 Marks

Candidates in the ratio of 20 times of total posts will be declared qualified in the written objective type Examination (MCQ) and will be called for driving skill test.

Syllabus :

The Syllabus for Written Examination (Objective Type) will be as under:

  1. Objective Type questions (MCQ) of Syllabus related to Post : 50 Marks
  2. .Objective Type questions of Hindi & English of 10th standard : 20 Marks
  3. Objective type questions related to HP GK & Current Affairs : 15 Marks

Total Marks= 85 and Duration of Examination – 90 Minutes

Driving Skill test is of qualifying nature for those who qualify written objective type examination. The only candidates who will qualify the driving test will be called for evaluation.

  • The candidates are required to score at least 1/3rd marks of the total marks of written examination.
  • There will be no negative marking in written examination.

Peon (Class-IV) :

Selection shall be made on the basis of merit of prescribed educational qualification i.e. Matric followed by evaluation. Percentage of marks obtained in Matric will be out of 85.

For example, a candidate getting 50% marks in Matric will be given 42.5 marks. Evaluation of the remaining 15 marks will be done on the basis of parameters devised by Govt of HP vide Department of Personnel’s Notification No. Per(AP.B)B(15)-5/2014 dated 17.04.2017.

There will be no written examination and interview. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of particulars provided by the candidate in Online Application form. Top candidates in merit in the ratio of 20 times of total posts in respect of any particular category will be called for evaluation of 15 marks.

The final merit will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in prescribed educational qualification as per above criteria and the marks obtained in evaluation.

How To Apply :

The candidate is required to fill up ‘Online Application form’ available on the official website. On completion of filling up the ‘Online Application form’ the candidate is required to pay fees through online mode of payment as per direction given there.

The candidate must provide correct information as sought through Online Application Form. Onus lies on the candidate that he or she has provided true & correct information in the Online Application Form. No representation in this regard will be accepted later on. No offline application forms will be accepted.

The candidate is not required to upload any document in Online Application from; the required documents will be checked later at the stage of evaluation. The candidate must read the instruction given in the advertisement carefully for filling up the Online Application Form.

Examination Fees :

  1. General Category/WES., Ex-SM relieved from Defence Services on their own request before completion of normal tenure = Rs. 360/-
  2. General IRDP, PWD, WFF, Ward of Ex-SM=Rs. 120/-
  3. SC of HP/ST of HP/ OBC of HP, BPL of HP/EWS (BPL) = Rs. 120/-
  4. Female candidates, Ex-SM of HP.=No Fee

Mode of Payment :

The candidate can deposit the requisite fee through ‘Online Payment Gateway’ using credit Card/Debit Card (Rupay)/Net Banking/UPI or through ‘Challan’ (With Challan the candidate shall deposit fee in any branch of SBI). Apart from this, there will be any other mode of payment of fees

Admit Card :

Admit Card for written examination of Driver will be either set by e-mail or by post. In case the Admit card is sent by e-mail, the candidate may get its print out. The candidate is required to paste his latest photograph on the Admit card and is required to get it attested from any Gazetted Officer. Apart from this the candidate is required to carry his photo identy proof such as Aadhar,Driving Licence etc. during examination.

Evaluation of 15 Marks :

Intimation for inviting candidates for evaluation of 15 Marks will be sent by e-mail or by post. For evaluation, the candidates are required to bring acknowledgement receipt of Online Application from along with original certificates and self attested photocopies of all the necessary certificates and documents.
