Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: 18 to 45 years as of 01-01-2026 (relaxation applies as per HP State Government norms).
  • Himachal Education Clause: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from an institution located in HP (this condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis).
  • Reservation: Available exclusively to Bonafide candidates of Himachal Pradesh; candidates from other states are treated as General/UR.

Educational Qualifications:

English Teacher (Post Code 26046)

Candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

  • M.A./M.Sc. in English.
  • Minimum 50% marks at Graduation level.
  • B.Ed. from a recognized university/institution. B.A. B.Ed., B.Com. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. candidates are also eligible.
  • English must be a compulsory subject in B.Ed.
  • Graduation (including B.Ed.) with a minimum of 50% marks and at least 55% marks in English at Graduation level.
  • Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.

Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC candidates must have at least 45% marks in Graduation and B.Ed. and 50% marks in English at Graduation level.

2. Mathematics Teacher (Post Code 26047)

Essential qualifications:

  • M.A./M.Sc. in Mathematics with at least 50% marks at Graduation level.
  • B.Ed. from a recognized university/institution. B.A. B.Ed., B.Com. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. are also eligible.
  • Mathematics must be a compulsory subject in B.Ed.
  • Graduation (including B.Ed.) with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • At least 55% marks in Mathematics at Graduation level.
  • Must have passed TET conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.

Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC candidates must have at least 45% marks in Graduation and B.Ed. and 50% marks in Mathematics at Graduation level.

3. Teacher (Hindi) – Post Code 26048

  • Master’s Degree in the concerned subject (Hindi) from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • B.Ed. from a recognized university/institution with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

4. Teacher (Political Science) – Post Code 26049

  • Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. with at least 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

5. Teacher (History) – Post Code 26050

  • Master’s Degree in History from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

6. Teacher (Economics) – Post Code 26051

  • Master’s Degree in Economics, Applied Economics or Business Economics from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

7. Teacher (Physics) – Post Code 26052

  • Master’s Degree in Physics, Electronics or Nuclear Physics from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

8. Teacher (Chemistry) – Post Code 26053

  • Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

9. Teacher (Biology) – Post Code 26054

Candidates must possess:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks in any of the following subjects:
    • Botany
    • Zoology
    • Life Science
    • Microbiology
    • Biotechnology
    • Molecular Biology
    • Plant Physiology
  • Candidates must have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level.
  • B.Ed. with at least 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

10. Teacher (Sanskrit) – Post Code 26055

  • Master’s Degree in Sanskrit from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. with at least 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

11. Teacher (Computer) – Post Code 26056

Candidates must possess any ONE of the following qualifications:

Option 1: B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Science/Information Technology from a recognized university/institute with at least 50% marks.

Option 2: B.E. or B.Tech. in any stream from a recognized university/institute along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science/Technology/Applications with at least 50% marks.

Option 3: M.Sc. (Computer Science) or MCA from a recognized university/institute with at least 50% marks.

Option 4: Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics/Physics along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science/Applications with at least 50% marks.

Option 5: B or C Level Course from DOEACC Society, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, with at least 50% marks.

  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English is required.

12. Teacher (Music) – Post Code 26057

  • Master’s Degree in Vocal or Instrumental Music from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. from a recognized university/institution with at least 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET conducted by HPBOSE Dharamshala or another government-authorized agency.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

13. Teacher (Commerce) – Post Code 26058

  • Master’s Degree in Accountancy, Financial Accountancy and Income Tax/MFC (Master of Finance Control) from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. from a recognized university/institution with at least 50% marks.
  • Must have passed TET.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

14. Teacher (Physical Education) – Post Code 26059

Candidates must possess any ONE of the following prescribed qualification combinations:

Option 1:

  • B.P.Ed. or BPE or B.Sc. in Health and Physical Education and a Degree in Sports with at least 55% marks, as per NCTE Recognition Norms and Procedure Regulations, 2009.

Option 2:

  • At least 50% marks in B.P.Ed. (Integrated 4-year professional degree), as per NCTE Regulations, 2007.

Option 3:

  • B.P.Ed. with at least 55% marks in the B.P.E. course of 3 years duration, with at least 50% marks as per NCTE Regulations, 2002.

Option 4:

  • One-year Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) as per NCTE norms.
  • M.P.Ed./M.A. in Physical Education of at least two years’ duration from an NCTE-recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in teaching Hindi and English.

15. Teacher (Fine Arts) – Post Code 26060

Candidates must possess any ONE of the following qualifications:

Option 1:

  • Master’s Degree in Fine Arts/Visual Arts (Painting and Sculpture) with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.

OR

Option 2:

  • Higher Secondary/Intermediate/Senior School Certificate Examination.
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time or 7 years of part-time Diploma in Fine Art/Painting from a recognized university or institute.
  • At least 50% marks as prescribed in the notification.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

  1. Mode of Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT) or OMR screening test.
  2. Total Questions & Marks: 120 multiple-choice questions, 120 marks.
  3. Duration: 90 minutes (1½ hours).
  4. Syllabus Split:
    • Prescribed subject/field knowledge up to essential qualification level.
    • General Knowledge (including HP GK and Current Affairs), Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English, and General Hindi (Matric Standard).
  5. Qualifying Marks: Minimum 45% for General candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF.
  6. Normalization: Z-score method (Mean and Standard Deviation) will be used for multi-shift CBTs.

  4. Pay Fee & Submit: Complete the ₹800 fee payment via online gateway and retain the submitted application form for future document verification.
