Education Department, Chandigarh Administration invited online applications from desirous and eligible candidates to fill up 293 posts of Junior Basic Training (JBTs)(Primary Teacher, class-1-V) on
regular basis. Interested candidate may apply online.

Educational Qualification :

The candidate should possess the essential qualification as on the Closing date of submission of application.
(i) Graduate or its equivalent from a recognised University and
(ii) Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed.) (by whatever name known) of not less than 02 years duration recognised by NCTE.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.).
(iii) Pass in Central Teacher Eligibility Test conducted in accordance with the Guidelines framed by NCTE.

Age Limit :

i. Candidates age should be strictly between 21 to 37 years as on 01.01.2023.
ii. Relaxation to SC/OBC/ESM/PwBD and other category candidates will be given as per the instructions issued by Govt. of India/Chandigarh Administration. Under OBC category, candidates of those castes will be given benefits which are included in Union Territory, Chandigarh list.
iii. Contract Teachers, Guest Teachers and Samagra Shiksha Teachers, working in Govt. Schools of Chandigarh will be given age relaxation equal to the period rounded to nearby month they worked in Govt. Schools under Chandigarh Administration. This relaxation will be applicable to the above category of teachers for direct recruitment who are working in Education Department Chandigarh/Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh on closing date for submission of application.

Pay Scale :

The Pay scale for the post of JBT is Rs.9300-34800+Grade Pay Rs.4200 notified by Chandigarh Administration, Finance Department (Accounts Branch) vide notification no. 7000/15/8-F&P0(7)/2023/4354 dated 29.03.2023.

Selection Criteria

a) Merit list for selection will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in Objective Type Test. One objective type tests of 150 Marks will be conducted. Qualifying marks for test will be 40% for all candidates. No interview will be conducted.
b) Written test consisting of Multiple-choice questions will be conducted as under:

Selection Procedure :

i. All the candidates who will submit ONLINE application along with requisite fees on or before the closing date will be issued admit card to appear in the written exam without checking the eligibility conditions.
ii. After the conduct of written test, answer key will be uploaded on website as per schedule for submission of objections by the candidates.
iii. Marks obtained by the candidates in written test will be uploaded on the website.
iv. In case two or more candidates are having same marks in written test then a candidate having higher marks in Diploma in Elementary Education(D.El.Ed.) (whatever name known)/B.Ed. will rank higher in the merit. Even then if two candidates are at same rank, the candidate older in age will rank higher in merit.
v. Merit list prepared on the basis of marks in written test will be uploaded on the website and on the basis of said merit; candidates will be called for scrutiny of original document and checking of eligibility conditions. (to be read along with point VI)
vi. Candidates to be called for scrutiny of original documents under each category will be 1.5 times ( one and half times) the number of posts under each category.
vii. Merit list of selection will be released after checking of eligibility conditions and ICT skill training certificates.

Application Fee :

Application fee (non-refundable) amounting to Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in case of SC) will be accepted through online mode upto 17.08.2023 (upto 02.00 PM). Persons with disability are exempted for payment of fee as per instructions issued by Govt. of India.
