Himachal Pradesh University Shimla invited application from the eminent scholars/retired Professors (on Plain Paper) for appointment of Professor to Head the Chairs in the Himachal Pradesh University on the Following terms and conditions.

The application, along with a copy of Curriculum-Vitae and relevant supporting documents should reach the office of the Assistant Registrar, Recruitment Branch, Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill, Shimla-171005 latest by 6th October,2021.

Minimum Eligibility Qualifications :

Eminent scholar with at least 10 years’ experience as Professor/Reader in a University/Institute. OR

Eminent scholar who has distinguished himself/ herself in his / her aea of interest as also relevant to the area of chairs.

Salary/Honorarium :

(a) In case of direct recruitment, their pay shall be fixed in the Professor’s scale.

(b) In case of retired Professor, consolidated salary of Rs. 40,000/- per month plus pension.

Period of Appointment/ Tenure :

A person appointment shall hold the position for a term of three years. This term can be extended by another two years depending upon the progress of the incumbent or at the discretion of the University but not exceeding 70 years of age.

Age Limit :

The maximum age upto which a person can hold this position is 70 (Seventy years) Age of the candidate shall be reckoned as on 01.10.2021.

Other terms and conditions of engagement:

(i) The annual progress report of the chair(s) shall be placed before the ExecutiveCouncil of the University once in every year and the same shall be published in theAnnual report of the University.

(ii) Provisions of rules & Regulations for Himachal Pradesh University ‘Professor'(Appointment and other conditions) Rules, 2006 (as amended) are applicable for appointment. Nothing in these rules, shall apply, in so far as it is in consistent with the provision of the Act, Statutes and the Ordinances of the University

General Instructions:

(i) Separate application form should be sent for each Chair.(ii) The decision of Himachal Pradesh University regarding eligibility etc. of a candidatefor Selection will be final and no correspondencel personal enquiries will beentertained.

(ii) The University reserves the right to fill up or not to fill up the post or to call limited candidates for test/interview. No TA/DA will be payable for attending interview
